Adults refer to animals or humans that have reached their full development. Within the human realm, adults refer to the social and legal aspects. Contrary to those who are not considered an adult or "minor" an legal adult has attained majority, that makes them independent competent, responsible, and capable. Also, they can be described as a "major". The typical age of attaining legal adulthood is 18, but the definition can vary based on the legal rights of the country, and psychological development.

The lifespan of human beings, adulthood refers to the age in which the person has achieved full intellectual and physical maturation. Typically, the age of adulthood is around the age of 21, or 20. The age of old is 60 years old after middle age. Adulthood can be divided into three phases that are: early adulthood (18-mid-30s), mid-30s-mid-60s, and late adulthood mid-60s until end of life. When we enter early adulthood (20 to early 40s) our physical growth is completed, though our weight and height might increase slightly. The physical abilities of our bodies are at their peak in young adulthood. This includes muscle strength, reflex time, sensors, and the heart's function.
